Five days in Sicily

Summer has come to an end, but Sicily always offers many alternatives to spend a few days of vacation even during the winter season. Follow our advice and organize your 5 days in Sicily!

1. Catania

Starting point for our 5 days in Sicily is Catania: easy to reach by plane thanks to the airport Vincenzo Bellini and full of quality accommodation facilities is an excellent base. The center of Catania is easily visited on foot, given the proximity of major points of interest: Piazza Duomo with the cathedral and the nearby fish market, the Via Etnea full of shops, the Ursino Castle and the Vincenzo Bellini Theatre. All these monuments can be easily visited in a single day. If you want to combine artistic interest with culinary interest, then you can participate in the Catania street food Walking tour: a tour based on the culinary specialties of the city. 3. A day of shopping in Taormina

Taormina is a summer holiday destination for millions of tourists. At this time of year it is definitely less crowded, and you can better enjoy everything it offers. We recommend a visit to the Ancient Theatre, with its magnificent view of the sea and Mount Etna, and then a visit to the Corvaja Palace, now an exhibition centre, and a walk through the Town Garden. The day can only end with a little healthy shopping! Walking along Corso Umberto you will find the best shops to buy clothes, jewelry, but also souvenirs to take home!

From Catania, every day, several buses reach the city of Syracuse. Perfect for visiting the city of Santa Lucia and the historic center of Ortigia. Even in winter is relaxing a walk along the seafront and a visit to the cathedral.
