Giardini Naxos: destination for summer 2019
If you take a look at the program of our sailing tours, you can notice that there is a tour that takes you from Giardini Naxos to Taormina. How many of you have already visited Giardini Naxos at least once? We’ll talk about it today!
Until the 70s Giardini Naxos was a fishing village, while today it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Italy thanks to its beautiful beaches and clubs on the promenade.
As for the beaches you can find two types: beaches with very fine sand or beaches with small stones. Among the most beautiful beaches there are certainly the beach of Recanati, the beach of Schisò and the beach of Porticciolo Saia.
Giardini Naxos is not only sea and beach: it also boasts several important monuments. The symbol of this place is, for example, the Nike, built in 1965. Not to be missed is also the Castle of Schisò which is part of the archeological complex of Giardini Naxos. At Capo Schisò are the remains of the ancient city of Naxos: thanks to excavations was found a part of the walls of the ancient city and a shrine probably dedicated to Aphrodite.
Giardini Naxos is located in a strategic position that allows you to move easily to discover other wonders on our island. From here you can easily reach Etna and participate in a tour organized by our partner Etna Experience, or move to Taormina (if you do not have your own car you can book a transfer service with the agency Sicily Day Bt Day). And of course you can participate in our sailing tours to discover Sicily from the sea!
