Riviera dei Ciclopi – From Catania to Acitrezza and back
A full day excursion discovering the “Riviera dei Ciclopi”. During this relaxing day you will admire the Ulysses’ Caves, the Medieval Castle in Acicastello and the naturalistic area of Acitrezza and mythologic Cyclops’ Islands. While navigating, you will learn the basics of sailing and some curiosities and legends about our land. During the day you will have the possibility to swim and we will offer you also lunch.

Tips
We suggest you to bring your own swimsuit, a towel and sunscreen lotion. Wind jackets and hats can be needed since it could be windy while sailing.
If you think you can suffer from seasickness we suggest you to take pills and patches before the tour. If you don’t have the equipment required we will provide you with the necessary, ask for it when you book.

Welcome on board!
Once you meet the skipper you will get on board on a boat with three double cabins (one will be available during the excursion), a bathroom with shower and external shower, a kitchen and a refrigerator. On board, a welcome refreshment of homemade biscuits or almond pastries and ice tea will be waiting for you!

Swim
We will stop for a relaxing swim. You can admire the Ulysses Caves in the surrounding landscape. These caves were formed in a beautiful lava cliff overlooking the sea. The colors of the backdrops are gorgeous, from dark blue, to green, to light blue.

Marvel at the Medieval Castle
While sailing towards Acitrezza, you will pass under the medieval castle of Acicastello. Spectacular the view of the castle by the sea. You can observe the characteristic “pillow lavas” found under the castle and due to the rapid cooling of submarine eruptions.

See Cyclops’ Islands, have lunch in Acitrezza
Once docked at the port of Aci Trezza, you will have about an hour and an half of free time and it is up to you to decide how to spend it (this time is not included in the daily charter and it is under your responsibility).
You can take a walking tour of the picturesque fishing village of Acitrezza. Alternatively, you can hire a pedalo* or take advantage of a transport service on a small fishing boat that will take you to Lachea Island, the heart of the reserve, where you can snorkel with equipment provided by us.
*The pedal boat or boat transport service is not included in the price, but the cost is negligible (around a few euros per person).
Back on the boat, we will offer you a tasty lunch on board (included in the price) of pani cunzatu (bread stuffed with typical Sicilian products, usually tuna*, tomato, mozzarella and olives) and white wine DOC produced by Emilio Sciacca.
*It is possible to request a vegetarian or vegan menu. For any other dietary requirements (gluten free etc.), please let us know when booking.

Back to our home port
During the return voyage, we will offer you seasonal fruit and, weather permitting, we will stop for a further swim in the open sea. The return to the port is expected at around 6:00 PM.
