An excursion discovering the “Cyclops Riviera”. During these hours you will admire the Ulysses’ Caves, the Medieval Castle in Acicastello and the naturalistic area of Acitrezza and mythological Cyclops’ Islands. While navigating, you will learn the basics of sailing and some curiosities and legends about our land; you will have also the possibility to swim and we will offer you also an appetizer.

We suggest you to bring your own swimsuit, a towel and sunscreen lotion. Wind jackets and hats can be needed since it could be windy while sailing.
If you think you can suffer from seasickness we suggest you to take pills and patches before the tour (under suggestion of your doctor). If you don’t have the equipment required we will provide you with the necessary, ask for it when you book.
Once you meet the skipper you will get on board on a boat with three double cabins (one will be available during the excursion), a bathroom with shower, an external shower, a kitchen and a refrigerator.
Passage in front of the Caves of Ulysses (from the permitted distance). These caves were formed in a beautiful lava cliff overlooking the sea. The colors of the seabed are stunning, ranging from deep blue to light blue to turquoise.
Sailing to the Cyclops Islands Marine Protected Area, passing under the medieval castle of Aci Castello. The view of the castle from the sea is spectacular. Mooring to the Isola dei Ciclopi Marine Protected Area with a stop of about 30 minutes, where you can snorkel in the heart of the reserve, with equipment provided by us, and admire the ecosystem of the Marine Protected Area.
During the trip, there will be an opportunity to stop for a swim, and a tasty aperitif will be served, featuring local products preserved in oil, bread, cold cuts, cheeses and fresh seasonal fruit. Everything will be accompanied by good local white wine.
During the return trip you can take a bath offshore (weather permitting). You will be back in Catania around 2:00 p.m. (or 7:00 if during the afternoon)
